October 12, 2006 at 1:18 pmSpeed Gains are relative to were your starting from.
Old computer G4 dual 1.25 Ghz AE 7 ok’ish.
MacPro 2.66 Ghz and X1900T Video card AE 7 Better.
MacPro 2.66 Ghz X1900T Video card Motion Much Better.
XP via Bootcamp? God Why. (McDonalds drive thru in a Jaguar- again God Why)

October 12, 2006 at 1:48 pmAfter Effects 7.0 does not (yet) natively support the Intel Mac. It’ll run but don’t expect any miracles ( speedwise) until Adobe releases the upgrade to Universal.
I’m running AE 7.0 on an Intel Mac and a Dual Processor G4. Intel beats Dual…but as I said, don’t expect any huge speed improvements. -

October 15, 2006 at 4:41 pmI have 2 set-ups and 2 licences for After Effects. One Mac the other PC.
I run a G5 2.5 Ghz Quad 4 GB RAM and AE 7, as well I just purchased a MacPro 2.6 Quad Core Xeon with 2GB RAM and installed XP and After Effects.
The MacPro running XP blows away the G5 Quad for sheer processing speed.
I only wish I had bought my Nucleo Pro licence for Windows.
