  • Adviseable fps for a text based video

    Hi,
My AE project has mp3 voice over file on one layers and hundreds of text layers for the 99% of the video synced to this VO file. Like the voice over goes quickly and each text layer shows different text on screen after every few seconds or so.

    * What should be the most advisable fps I should keep in my composition?
    * What if I want to ultimately keep the mp4 output video size as lower as possible?
    * Does fps affect the final video size?

These questions have been in my mind for quite a long time and today I decided to ask here in this forum.

I would really appreciate your help.

    Thanks
    Syed

    Hi Dave,
Thanks a lot for your response. I would like to clarify a few points though:

    1) Video is intended for web
    2) All the text layers I have in my composition have no animation whatsoever applied to them.
    3) Client’s only concern is that the text should be sharp and readable.
    4) In my setting I have one White solid layer as background with Black text layers (using Myriad Pro font) sitting on top of BG.

    Thanks again.
    Syed

[Dave LaRonde] “Yes. The more frames there are every second, the larger the file size becomes.”

    Dave,
Not really the case with a long GOP codec like H264 or WMV.
If the image does not change (too much), the compression is VERY effective.
