Advise me with Chroma Keying in Sony Vegas!!!!
Posted by Kelden Amadiro on March 21, 2012 at 4:51 amI am trying to Chroma Key in Sony Vegas. My background isn’t 100% level lighted so I used the eyedropper tool to select the range of lighted area behind me. But I can’t slide the low/high thresholds in such a way to make me all white and the background all black in mask mode. I even tried to use secondary color corrector to make the background color more uniform, but no luck.
The sample footage is about 30 seconds long is at https://wheretolive22.com/test1.mpg
Any ideas?
Thanks,

March 21, 2012 at 1:08 pmWouldn’t “Show mask” get the effect you want? Or only show mask, or something to that effect?

March 21, 2012 at 5:49 pmThe Chroma Key in Boris FX is really awesome indeed, the “green” preset was already spot on for my green screen, no adjustments needed 😛

March 22, 2012 at 11:56 pmI tried the trial version of Boris Continuum and it does seem to work really well. I also just found this article to make the Vegas one work better, and it does seem to be pretty good. The key action is to make the green screen more prominent by using the secondary CC filter. Of course, Boris has much better matte controls.
So just a thought, try this as well:

March 25, 2012 at 3:47 pmI appreciate all your thoughts but
1) The tuturial you suggested (both are the same) didn’t work for me.
2) Boris costs over $500. I really want to get the Sony Vegas chroma keying, which I already have, working on its own. It should be able to work.If any of you want to try the sample file from my original post and tell me if you find a way to do it, let me know.
Thanks
