Advice on possible Izotope Rx or Ozone 4 purchase
I know these products serve different purposes. I just ordered Sound Forge, which comes with the Izotope bundle. I have some budget to play with before year end and am looking at Rx (the cheaper one) or Ozone 4. Thoughts on which to get? I’m not sure how the bundled plugins with SF compare with the Ozone suite. My thought is go with Rx so I’m covered with all kinds of audio possibilities and problems, but if Ozone blows away the bundled plugins it might be worth going that way. Just wondering what opinions are out there. I tried to contact Izotope but they don’t supply a phone number on the website.

Well you said it yourself, they are two completely different plug-ins. Ozone 4 is for mastering your audio and it does an outstanding job of giving your audio that “polished” sound. RX on the other hand, is for removing all kinds of difficult noise. If you don’t encounter much noise in your work, Ozone 4 would be more valuable. However, if you are presented with tough noise issues, all the masting and polishing in the world is not going to make noisy audio sound good so in that case RX would be a better investment. I guess it all boils down to what your needs are?

Yeah, that was my dilemma. I just bought RX a few minutes ago to use the combo of that with the Sound Forge package. Just a better overall set of tools for what I need.
