  • advice on a graphics card to run dual LCDs

    Hi,
I’m just about to buy two 17″ LCDs that run at 1280×1024 each. I’m worried my graphics card won’t handle it.
I’ve got an Nvidea ti4200. I think I will have to get a digital -> VGA adapter, but that’s ok.

Should I upgrade me card? and what would I get?

I have 2 17″ LCDs at that res (1 DVI 1 VGA) running off an nvidia FX5200 on a 3GHz 1GB machine and it works fine with PPro 1.0. Though I don’t do effects beyond simple titles and dissolves.

If you’re upgrading anyway and think you may want to do effects or go to 2 DVI monitors later, then you may want something better than the 5200.

Two LCD monitors will run fine with the Ti4200 at that resolution. Upgrading to faster card like the 6600GT will give you slightly more speed but no additional effects in PPro.

Weird! My FX 5200 have only one output to one monitor besides SVHS/Composite.
Looking to find a good one with dual head thought in the FX 5700.
