    Hello,

I’m building a new edit bay from scratch and now I’m at the point of deciding on a preview monitor. However, with the HD revolution that we are currently in… I’m trying to figure out what my options are.

I know in SD world we should buy a nice quality monitor to be able to see all of our details and see what we will actually loose with the analog signal. However, with the advent of LCD and plasma technology and the turning point of SD tv’s being obsolete in the near future… What should I be looking at? What are the reason’s not to buy another LCD panel as a preview monitor (if any)? Or is there a preview option that is the new standard with this new technology. I know that matrox has created a box that will enable you to use your LCD panel as a preview option. However, if your not concerned about SD standards anymore… Why bother?

I’m kinda confused on this and any help would be great.

    Thanks for your direction.

    Jason
