  • Advice for going from 5.0.4 to 5.1.2

    I’ve waited to upgrade until my project was completed.
    I’ve got the replacement disks from Apple for 5.1.
    What order of updating is recommend?
    OS 10.4.7 to 10.4.8, then the FCP upgrades
    or the other way around?

    Any other gotchas that stand out in your mind would be helpful.
    I’m on a G5 dual 2.5g, 4 gig mem, SATA RAID with Sonnet card.

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Run system update and download everything it offers. Then update the Final Cut studio programs. Then run the update again.

    Also, unplug any external storage during all of this.

    Other than that, I can’t think of any other standard issues.

    I need to upgrade from 5.0.4 to at least 5.1. Where can I get this upgrade for a reasonable price? I have read the upgrade is only $50.00 but where? I need it to support the Firestore P2 footage.

    From Apple. That is the ONLY place to get it for that price;

    https://www.apple.com/universal/crossgrade/

    The $49 upgrade is for those with FCP studio. If you have FCP 5 then it is $99.
