advanced animation camera in AE
Hi everyone,
this is my first post and I’m not a frequent user of AE, but a willing-to-become one.
I have found this movie on youtube and would like to reproduce the style of it.. which is, I think, very good.

So I took some self-made comics and tried it.. I can do the basic 2d to 3d like movements, but I have some problems in:
A – realising the hand camera effect: those sudden shakes: do someone think they could be realised with the Wiggler? or is it a Plug in effect?
B – finding the smoke for the dust effect.. I think that should be a Plugin, but as I am not an experienced user, I do not know what it is, so I can’t find it.
has got everyone some advice, or some tutorial to address me at?

wow. that was a really well done animation.
The handheld camera effect can absolutely be achieved with wiggle. Just make sure it wiggles some on the z-axis. There are several posts and tutorials here that will be very helpful, but I’m too lazy to find them at the moment.
The dust looks like it was done with fractal noise. You could use a particle generator like Particular, but I don’t think its necessary.
Andrew Kramer’s Action Movie Essentials has some nice pre-matted smoke and fog effects, as well as some other stuff you might find helpful, if you’re willing to pay a little money to save yourself the hassle. https://www.videocopilot.net/action.html
