Adrenaline to Meridian
I have been editing on AVID since ’91, and have used the various upgrades along the way. I am now cutting on Adrenaline in DV 25 and am getting ready to start a lengthy documentary project. At the end of the project, I’m handing it over to 2 supervising editors who cut on Meridian on 20:1 or 10:1. They would perfer that I cut on Meridian, too, because they are afraid that the two systems won’t be compatible. (Perhaps like they’ve been burned in the past.) They request that the media be delivered on a firewire drive.
I’ve been working on this project for several years on my Xpress Pro at DV 25 and had planned to move to Adrenaline when we’re ready to go full-steam ahead. So my questions are:
1. Will they be able to work with the media I’ve already digitized at DV25 if I transcode it to 10:1?
2. Do you forsee any problems if I cut this on Adrenaline or Xpress Pro in their preferred resolution, and then take my media, bins and sequence to them to load on their Meridian from a firewire drive?
3. I’m using Moving Picture for my stills animation so I’m hoping this will also translate.
I want to make the transition as seamless as possible for them but I haven’t been able to find many rental options for a Meridian system.
Thanks for your help!
