Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 v5.0.3 not playing videos, neither in Source nor in Program Video.
I am using the above mentioned software version on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, a AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE with 16gigs of RAM, an AMD FirePro 4900 1giga card and 2TB + 500gb SATA hdd.
I have a Canon A2300 Digital camera, most of you wont even know that such low end models exists in this world. It records a 720p video. I will be attaching that type of file “in the end”. *Linkin Park?* 😀
Now the problem is I used to edit my files previously on the same version before i formatted my pc. Now none of the videos play in Adobe. They play without any problems on my pc when played on VLC.
Adding more VLC Player installed, divx xvid codecs installed. I even installed the Klite codec mega pack 9.7.5, both the 32 bit version as well as 64 bit version *just to be sure that none of the codecs are giving the problem*
I sent those video files to other team mates who dont have a better config than mine. And to my horror, they are playing pretty fine on their systems. *dead* *wasnt able to sleep after that* 😉
How do I proceed with editing such a video. Its an avi with something related to mpeg2.

It is general knowledge around here that K Lite installation wreaks havoc with Adobe CS software.
First I suggest you delete it. Then delete all media cache files and preview files.

That aint working sir. Should I re-installing, though i tried that before but didnt work.
But 1 thing i must say, your video edit was worth a watch. Loved it. Still humming it.. 😉

Im sorry it didnt work.
And Im glad you enjoyed the video.
You didnt say if you were on Mac or PC.
You next could try un and reinstalling the software. If that doesnt work, I would suggest reformating your disk, reinstalling windows then reinstalling CS6. And do not instal any other codecs then what Adobe provides you .

Haha Tom you gave me another reason to format my disk. I use PC. Thanks very much for your wonderful reply. This was my first post to this site and glad that people do reply 😉

Please provide more information regarding the file type. Your posted video is formatted as H.264/MOV, which coincides with the A2300 specs. Was the source file transcoded to AVI? Is this the preferred output format? Can you play the source H.264/MOV file in QuickTime?

sorry i mentioned it wrong previously. It is actually a .mov file. Its has been directly copy-pasted from the memory card. basically untouched.
Talking about playing it on Quicktime, Yeah its playing smoothly. I have Quicktime 7.7.3 Pro

Thank you for the clarification. Did you try removing all the third party codecs/players (vlc, divx, klite, etc)?
