Could you post a screen shot of the capture settings? Does it sound like the chipmunks in other programs?

The evil, dirty little “secret” of miniDV – the LP speed with 50% more time per tape and 32k sampled audio.

Sometimes tapes recorded with it will only play properly on the original device they were recorded with. Back in the day, I advised folks to avoid LP recording on miniDV like the plague.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.

With the camera and on the finder window the audio sounds normal, but, once i do playback the audio is bad.
