I am editing a project in Premiere Pro CS3, and I am constantly getting the following error msg just before it crashes:

“Adobe Premiere Pro.exe – Application Error … The instruction at “0x13b4cd4d referenced memory at 0x00000286. The memory could not be written.” (then it tells me to click OK terminate the program or CANCEL to debug it).

I have tried adding memory (to 3 GB) and increasing the virtual memory — as well as deleting unused media from the project bins — but that has not fixed the problem …

The footage was shot with a Sony HDR-XR-500v, and I used HDV1080i for my project settings …

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated …

It’s not so much a lack of memory as possibly a few other things.

What do you have along the lines of specialty hardware? Do you have any programs running in the background? It sounds like some kind of software/driver conflict.

REPLY: Thanks for getting back to me. Not sure what you mean by “specialty hardware,” but no, there aren’t really any processes running in the background that I can close out of. I may have solved the problem, though, by transferring the ppj onto an expansion drive with tons of space (the drive I had been using only had about 20 GB or so left) …
