Adobe Premiere CS4-style deinterlacing in Sony Vegas 8?
Now, as fellow Premiere CS4+Vegas 8 users would know, when you import interlaced footage into a progressive-scan project in Premiere, and set the Field Processing Options of the clip to None, Premiere mysteriously does the keep-only-one-field thing A LOT smoother and better-looking than Sony Vegas does. Now, my problem: I am beginning production on a progressive-scan video project in Vegas (I prefer it over Premiere) and the only camcorder we have is a Panasonic 480i one. Buying a progressive camera is not an option. So, if I want Premiere’s awesome deinterlacing, I would have to capture the footage in Premiere, deinterlace+export it, and then put it into the Vegas project. That would be very time-consuming. So I am asking, is there a way to bring Premiere’s awesome deinterlacing algorithm/style into Vegas? I have tried Smart Deinterlacing plugins, but they are not what I am looking for. I simply want to discard one field and interpolate the lines in between as smoothly as possible.
