I’m thinking of switching from PC to a MAC PRO desktop.
Do you think a MAC PROD 2.8ghz 8 core machine is good enough?
I think it comes with 2gigs of ram and 320HD. I want to change
the HD to at least a 500 gig and add another 3 HDs..probably 1tb Hds.

Does anyone run Adobe Premier CS3 or CS4 under VMware fusion?
If so, how is it working out? Can you write to the MAC OSX partition?

Does Premier use AVI files when capturing from a camcorder or quicktime on the MAC?

    Thanks!

I would do the boot camp dual boot rather than any emulation software. Windows in Parallels or VMFusion runs well, but Premiere is a hefty app, so I don’t expect very good performance in that condition.

Running boot camp would “make” your Mac into a Windows machine, so it would run much better.

Using boot camp is a little more inconvenient, since you’d have to reboot into Windows to use it, but I think you’d be happier with the performance.
