Adobe Premier Elements audio in timeline
Hello,
I have adobe premier elements and have had success with it multiple times. Recently, I have been working on a project and downloaded video from Click to DVD (from my harddrive)to Adobe elements and it downloaded to elements just fine. As I viewed the video in Elements (before dragging it to the timeline) the video and audio was perfect. After dragging to the timeline the video was perfect, although, I had no sound. I checked the volumn in the timelime and it was OK… (I downloaded a song to make sure the audio was working)
This is very wierd… it’s like the sound is shut off for video clips. The video sound worked the last time I created a project. But now, everything works but my video’s audio. It’s not the video clip because (as I stated before)my video’s audio works in elements before you drag to the timeline.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Doug- What kind of video files are you using. I suspect you’re using MPEG files, which are not ideal for editing. Premiere Elements 1.0 was notorious for not handling MPEG files well. (The actual cause of the problem is incompatible MPEG decoders set as the default on your system.) Premiere Elements 2.0 is much better at it, I’d recommend you upgrade if you have the opportunity.
Another solution people have found is to install the K-Lite codec package, and during the install set the MainConcept MPEG decoder as the default option.
