Looks like I missed a couple of things –

First, you say you are moving to CS6 — what version are you on right now?

What C++ issue are you talking about?

I will not go to CS6 till I get this issue worked out.
I had a MS Visual C++ library runtime error R6025 the other day that required me to shut down my system, then everything seemed fine. Someone at Adobe told me I needed to uninstall all the C++ software in Control Panel and download visual C++ redistributable pack 4 and install it. I have not done that yet. Am about to head to best buy to pick up a new ASIO compatible sound card to see if that helps…

Well, given that there have been TONS of stability improvements in CS6, I would recommend using the demo, with your new soundcard, and seeing if that works. I would do the C++ things adobe told you to do, then install CS6 and give it a go!

Could not confirm if the sound card available at Best Buy tonight was ASIO compatible which apparently is important for Adobe Suite.

Do you think that all this data, is just too much for an integrated sound card. I mean we have 1 TB of data attached to this project and 1200 files.

Wish I knew a little more about how to do the C++thing. It’s a bit confusing to me.

Thanks for your consideration….I really do need all the help I can get on this….I’ve been working very hard to solve this.

I do not think it’s the media size… your setup sounds good, and personally I am running 4tb of media, 6400 clips with a similar setup – although a good GPU (Quadro 3800). I don’t think a GPU would be creating the issues with the Audio, a;though it’s also possible that the audio issues are just a symptom of a system that can’t keep up.

The C++ issue you should try to resolve ASAP if Adobe told you to do it. They likely know what they’re talking about. Are you unable to find and uninstall / install the packs they are looking for?

It just seemed a bit confusing and I was worried if I messed it up my system would be completely hosed.

What I do after I set up a new machine and installed my most used big applications, is make a disc image.

that way of I want to reinstall the system after 2-3 months or longer, I can just restore the disc image and install what ever came after th last disc image.

    UPDATE
I reinstalled my operating system, loaded QT as it is needed for Adobe Premier, loaded and updated, adobe CS5 and updated windows, opened the program, changed the drive the scratch files were going to in case it was flawed, allowed all files to conform and create audio peak files, rendered the timeline I was working in and what I got was instead of garbled audio, I got audio with a huge echo…A HUGE ECHO.
Now this may be a simple set up issues, so any advice would be appreciated.
The only thing I did not do was change the sound card because I found out the motherboard card I have on my Rampage II GENE mother board is a very good one.

Help please if you have any suggestions.

    Thanks
    Charlie
