Adobe Photoshop CS2 problem with Encore 2.0
When I build a Menu screen with Adobe Photoshop CS2, the highlight layers Encore 2.0 creates for the buttons are very blured and sloppy looking. Menu Screens built with Photoshop 7.0, the highlight layers are crisp and clean.
I also noticed CS2 Menus (720 X 480) when imported into Encore 2.0 are slightly squashed with Black bars added at top and bottom(outside of safety). 7.0 Menus (720 X 480) imported into Encore 2.0 aspect ratio holds.
While I can just go back to 7.0, I also get menus from Graphic Artist who uses CS2 and will not down-grade.

The likely solution to your second problem is that the pixel aspect ratio (PAR) is incorrect in CS2, or in CS2’s preview, or both.
The preview of the menu in Encore’s menu viewer may be fooling your eyes also if the “Correct Menu Pixels for TV Display” button is turned off.

Changeing the PAR fixed both problems. CS2’s default is “Square’ in the PAR drop down menu there’s a setting for “D1/DV NTSC (0.09)”.
