We’ve had some problems with Encore on a Mac, and I think we’ve figured it out on our end what is causing the problems. This is when using Encore for Mac to create the disc image, and Toast to burn the image to disc.
The problem was the button highlights did not work. (This was using Adobe’s stock HD menu templates)
We tried changing disc makers, burning directly from Encore, etc, with no change. What we found was when using a button highlight which was white when activated, it did not appear. Thus, we edited the button in Photoshop to a slight change in hue, and the problem was fixed.
So, beware of white button highlights. Change them in Photoshop to a color other than bright white, and it should work. Hope this helps!

I get a problem where the menu in encore shows the highlights correctly in the active state in a Blu-Ray project, but when you render the motion menu, the highlights pixel shift so it’s almost like a drop shadow off set. The highlight is not right on top of the word being highlighted. And I have no drop shadow on the text. I then make a disc image and burn to a Blu-Ray BD-RE for testing and the highlights are off on the disc as well.

I have all the latest updates. Is this a bug or a feature on the mac side?

OS X 10.52 is my operating system with QT 7.4.1 on a 3.0 GHz 8-Core Mac Pro with 16 GB ram.

I personally haven’t encountered this problems, but I have seen other issues which seem to revolve around enabling motion menus when working on a Mac. I can’t answer your question except to say it is my understanding that the Mac versions are a wee bit buggy. I’ve found by disabling the motion menu’s and setting my poster frames up manually, I get a result that works decent enough and burns properly. Guess we have to wait until V2 comes out.
But that is just my opinion. Wish you luck!

    Thanks Tim,

The client wants a motion menu. I solved the problem by creating arrows next to the words in PhotoShop and highlighting the arrows as a selection. The off set highlights aren’t as bed a when it isn’t a word.

    Definitely a big big bug,
