It’s been eons since we’ve done a DVD but our distributor wants one. They’ve provided an STL file for the english subtitles and want an option button for this.

BUT I can’t import STL into the project as an asset or as a Subtitle. It reads: “Unable to import subtitle script. This is not a Unicode File. Try reserving as UTF-8 or UTF-16 and reimport.”

I’ve tried researching to no avail.

Is there anyway to use the STL file for subtitles in Encore? I’ve been told its doable but can’t find anything but useless information and videos on web.

I use subtitle edit to convert to srt. Which Unicode to set can be an issue if it is not the default.

stl has a bunch of other information in headers, that will not come across.
