Adobe Dynamic Link Not Working!
Posted by Jason Satterlund on February 25, 2014 at 6:33 pmI am working in Adobe Premier CC and when I attempt to dynamic link it to After Effects, AE makes a composition, but there is no clip in the comp.
My workflow is: I place a clip on the timeline in PP.
Right click and choose, “Replace with After Effects Composition.”
I am sent to AE, and a new comp is created with the correct length. But there is no video clip. Nothing.
I have tried signing out and signing back in, I have dumped the cache, and nothing works.
A little help?

February 25, 2014 at 8:57 pmIt has to be After Effects CC. Dynamic link only works within the CC suite.

February 26, 2014 at 4:13 amWhat format is the clip, I had problems dynamic linking Canon C300 mxf files a while back. Ae CC did some weird stuff for me then too.

February 26, 2014 at 7:52 pmI am in fact using the C300, but I tried it using both still images and a Quicktime movie. I also set up a different timeline to see if that was it, but still nothing.
It just makes a comp with no file in it.

February 27, 2014 at 9:21 pmI would try looking for an Adobe update through Bridge. Not knowing your OS specifics, it may not be the culprit. I can only say that when we upgraded to Maverick, we lost the dynamic link and were advised to do an Adobe update through Bridge. It did the trick.

November 15, 2014 at 2:36 amI am having the same issue and it’s driving me nuts. I updated Bridge, like the guy suggested and nothing. Did you ever resolve the issue?

April 12, 2015 at 10:25 pmI’ve been having the same issue. A comp is created in AE but the clip doesn’t come over.
Here’s a possible work around. Import the clip directly into AE and drop it into the comp that was created by Dynamic Link. It will update from that point in Premiere.
