Not quite free, Phil – if you read the page link, it says only to people who have “customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products.”

In other words, for existing customers who are still running CS2. I’m sure there will be a run on this, but personally, I’m on the CS6 Master Collection.

Thanks, Joe. You are correct. To others: please don’t spread this rumor. It’s for existing customers only.

I’ll reserve my opinions on that article. Again, folks, it’s best to give this whole thing a miss.

Having read the article, I think the author was a bit less than forthcoming, since it seemed painfully clear that the software was meant only for people who had licensed it:

…may only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products.
    – Adobe

Maybe their initial thought was that they were providing the software on the honor system, then they had second thoughts. Even big software companies make mistakes – witness this forum…

When this went down there weren’t any disclaimers on the download site and it didn’t need an Adobe account. It was just a bunch of download links with serials. Then internet happened.
