    Good Afternoon,
I am working on a project in after effects, and I am trying to do lower third titling. I am running into a problem with the lens flare effect, because I am creating a new solid and applying the lens flare to it, it is not longer transparent. I change the transfer mode to screen but that doesn’t work either.

Here is a screen shot of what is happening

any advice here would be awesome. This is really important.
    Thanks

The default lens flares in AE don’t have alpha channels. One way around this is to apply it to a black solid, then change the transfer mode to “Add”

Another method is to download and install the free plugin from Red GiantUnmult, make sure you choose the 64 bit version if you are using a CS5 or newer version of AE.
