Adobe After Effects – Cannot Preview entire timeline

Thank you for your response i did google it after and it was ram issues. But what really got me puzzled is that when you create a lyric video and preview the line you are working on surely you dont have to start from the beginning again! I never knew about the shortening the Work Area. You are a time saver!! Seriously, despite i’m getting used to the program and its features it took me 4 hours to do 10.

To add to David’s good suggestions;

A little tip that I picked up along the way is to hold down the Shift key when you hit RAM preview. this will default to loading every second frame into RAM, effectively giving you twice the amount of RAM for your previews. Be aware that you’ll be watching at a lower frame rate but usually it’s enough for rough previews.

Decreasing the quality of the preview also allows for longer previews.
In addition, you could check disk cache (Prefferences – Media & Disk cache, it’s ON by default in CS5.5)

Hi Everyone.

Thanks for your help – here is the finished product. Its my first ever video in AE and it took me just over 2 1/2 weeks – (Common – ft John Legand – The Believer)

I viewed it once and it was a bit slow seemed outta sync, but i refreshed the page and it plays fine. But i know there are a few errors shh dont tell anyone.
