I’ve been waiting for AE 7 Pro for over 2 years now and it’s finally been released. I’m not overly blown-away by AE 7 Pro, but it’s still a decent upgrade I guess.

Premiere Pro 2, on the other hand, is quite remarkable, and goes to show how serious Adobe has become on the Premiere product. It’s amazing to see just how much Premiere has grown-up since I left it at 6.0 and switched to Avid (Premiere was too unstable). PP2 really takes the fight to XPro and beyond. It features 4K editing! Insane!

I’m dying to know what Avid is going to roll out to counter this and the new FCP 6 that’s going to be announced at NAB. They’re really going to have to roll up their sleeves and get dirty…and I’m really expecting them to.

Oh, and Encore and Audition both got upgrades to 2.0 as well.

    Enjoy.

Adobe is really giving it a go. But I still can’t believe Adobe hasn’t put in low-res capture on any footage like the way Avid or Final Cut can. Sony and Ulead also don’t have that…I mean, is it THAT difficult?

Yes, any suite that does not have its own codec, like Avid does cannot subsample easily because a lot of the times it just plays the original material rather than converting it.
