So i wanna create this connected dots effect and in the process i had to add a common adjustment layer to add a Fast blur and a simple choker to create a fluidy effect.

But the thing is the beam effect is also getting blurred and I’ve no other option than to push the beam layers to the top which i don’t want….So this is just a unsolved Bermuda Triangle where you need to restrict adjustment layers from affecting specific layer/s.

    Need your help guys !!!!

[Nithish kumar] “need to restrict adjustment layers from affecting specific layer/s.”

wouldn’t that be something… unfortunately that’s what adjustment layer is – affect ALL the layers underneath no exceptions. the common workaround is precomping the layers you want to affect by an effect and applying the effect to the precomp.

But the thing is i have the end points of the beam linked to the small dots via expression. Pre-comping it would break it….

[Nithish kumar] ” Pre-comping it would break it….”

you can link layer properties between comps just change the code instead of:
    “thisComp.layer”
    to
    “comp(“Name of Comp”).layer”
