adjusting fill in layers like in photoshop

I don’t think After Effects considers opacity and fill separately like Photoshop does.

What specifically are you trying to accomplish? Someone may have a suggestion.

Hey there

I have 3d renders a colour pass and a occlusion pass sometimes I use photoshop to play around with a final look currently I’m currently using “overlay” blend mode with my occlusion on top of my colour layer with the fill turned down a bit…

If there are no layer styles involved, can’t you just use opacity to get the same effect?

I don’t know if anyone is looking for an answer on this in 2017, in AE CC the option is under Layer Styles > Blending Options > Advanced Blending > Fill Opacity.
