Adjusting color temperature in FCPX
Is there a tutorial that shows how to shift the color temperature in FCPX in an equivalent way to how it is done in Aperture or other programs? Before shooting, it is easy to adjust my Canon XA20 using a white or gray sheet and having the camera set the white balance, but that doesn’t always get done. I guess in FCPX color window it might be offsetting the global color circle to the red or blue, but I am not sure that has the same effect.

There isn’t a color picker or temperature slider, but check out Hawaki AutoGrade. It helps with white balance (and more).

One thing that I have found that works pretty good is the Color Balance feature in Inspector. I find a lot of DSLR footage leans towards the yellow, or warm side. The Balance option will do a nice job (on a case by case basis) of giving you a base starting point and getting colors back to more “true”. Give it a shot and see what you think.
