Adding Visual TC
Posted by Richard Boddington on November 30, 2007 at 6:59 pmHi,
I need to add continuous visual TC to my edited project in FCP 4. And I need it to be in 24fps mode.
Any ideas on how I can do this?
Thanks

December 1, 2007 at 3:43 amEnabling that option in the AJA Control Panel ONLY makes TC appear when you use AJA TV to output. It does not allow VIS TC export from within FCP.

December 1, 2007 at 3:44 amO’Tay. Good one.
It’s right where Walter said it was, it’s called Timecode Generator.
If you don’t see it, go to the Effects > Effect Availability Menu and make sure it’s set to ‘All Effects’

December 1, 2007 at 3:48 amYou can use the TC Reader or Generator.
The easiest way is that you nest your sequence and drop the TCReader (Filters>Video).
The TC will be based in the time base of your sequence, so if you need a TC based in 24Fps, you need to work in a 24Fps sequence.

December 1, 2007 at 3:55 amOh. Yeah. I think it might have been called Timecode Print or something in FCP4.

December 1, 2007 at 3:59 amI have Time Code Print in the effects menu, this puts VTC on the shot I have selected.
But of course it goes back to zero every time there is a shot change. So this must be where the “nesting” comes in?
How do I “nest” the show? Does all the video need to be on the same track to nest it?
Thanks
