    Hi Folks …

I’m trying to do a simple zoom animation on a still on my timeline (CS5 on a PC.)

I’ve got the clip selected. I’ve got the track selected. I click on the “add/remove keyframe” button to the left of the track. I move the playhead up a few seconds. I resize the clip in the viewer window. I click the “add/remove keyframe” button again.

Shouldn’t this create the zoom effect from keyframe #1 to keyframe #2?? It doesn’t. When I play back the clip, there’s no movement – it’s just re-sized to the perimeters of the second keyframe.

Oh, sure, I know I can do this in the Effect Palate. It works fine when I do it there. But why can’t I do this on the timeline?? Have I failed to activate something?

    Thanks so much, as always!

If you want to keyframe on the timeline you need to activate the propertie for that clip.
Go to the track header and set it for Show Keyframes.
Now go to the clip and twirl down the drop down (were it says Opacity) of the clip and select the properties you want to animate.
    In this case Scale.
