  • adding motion to noise shaders…

Posted by Justin Rank on January 29, 2007 at 2:39 am

I’m working on a force field in C4D and would like to know if anybody has a couple suggestions regarding noise shaders. Despite my best efforts, the shader always looks too much like noise and less like a caustic-like effect.

I also need help on figuring out how to make the noise move…since I’m coming from After Effects, it’s my understanding that you ‘should’ be able to make the noise animate, I just haven’t figured it out.

Thanks in advance for your help…

Most likely you are taking too simple an approach. Work with layered shaders and multiple instances of noise. Add Levels, Fresnel, Colorizer and other effects to control coloring and contrast.

You can animate any parameter that exposes a hollow grey circle before it, so you should not have any problem getting some mortion in it by animating UV offset or global/ local scale.
