Adding media to timeline on separate tracks
Hi. Not exactly a Vegas newbie, but this seems like a basic question. Let’s say I’ve imported 24 tracks of wav files into my Project Media Pool. What’s the easiest way to add each wav file to its own separate track on the timeline, all lined up from the same start position?
I cannot figure it out….when I select all files in the Project Media Pool and drag them over to the timeline as a group or double-click them, they get added end-to-end on the same track.
I’ve also selected “add as cd track” after selecting them all, but this again puts them end to end, of course with the unneeded cd track markers, which I don’t need.
So I find myself manually dragging each one over one at a time onto its own track. I think there must be a simpler solution…?

Select the various WAV files, right-click one of them and drag to the timeline area. When you let go of the right button, in that menu choose the option to “Add across TRACKS”

That’s it! Thank you so much. Oh….how the HELL did you ever come to know that? I would have never thought to right-click and then drag something.

You might try right-clicking more often! There’s TONS of functionality that can be easily achieved doing that.
