  • Adding magnifying effect to inside of magnifying glass image

    Hello,

I am a new Motion user and I cannot figure out how to add a “Sphere” filter to the inside of a magnifying glass. When I either create a mask or shape and try to add the filter nothing happens. I can get a solid color to display and I have set the opacity to around 50%.

I have three layers: A background still image, Magnifying Glass graphic, and a shape or mask circle image. I am placing the mask and/or shape into the circle of the magnifying glass.

I am trying to have a magnification effect happen as the magnifying glass passes over the background image. Does anyone have any ideas?
I am not certain if I am in the ballpark or not.

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    Mike

I have been checking into this and it appears that Adobe After Effects can do this effect. unfortunately I do not have After Effects.

Does anyone think it is possible to do this with Motion? I have spent two days trying to figure this out.

I just upgraded to Final Cut Studio 2.o today and so far everything is working well.

    Take care,

    Mike
