I’ve got a question about using Photoshop files (as compositions) in AE.

If I want to add layers to my Photoshop file (and have AE reflect this), what’s the best way to do it?
Right now I’m just importing the file again, but as footage and selecting the new layer. Then I add that to comp of the .psd that I originally imported. Is that the only way to do it or am I missing something?

That’s pretty much how it’s done. But you may like to try this next time: Make a bunch of “empty” layers in your original .psd file and then when you need to add elements use those layers and AE will update them automatically.

That sounds like a good idea – thanks for the tip!
