I am adding foley footsteps and it is driving me crazy…is there anyway to play the timeline and press something on the keyboard that would leave a marker and then I could go back and have a rough idea of where to begin with the footsteps?

    Thank you.

I know this is a simple answer and its staring me in the face but I cant figure it out..

The asterisk key on the numeric keyboard (not above the 8). Play the timeline, tap the asterisk key. When you stop the clip the markers will be there.

Using the technique described by Steven you could place a marker on each footstep and then automate a sequence to the timeline.

i.e – record one footstep, dupe it a number of times and automate it to the markers.

    Hey Jack

Could I suggest page 124 of the manual will explain this better than anyway I can.

…and duplicating a clip can be done many ways. I would edit the footstep 1st, save as a named file.

Depending on how many footsteps are required would determine next step ( pardon the pun)

duplicating the named file a number of times by renaming each (name +number suffix)would be one consideration.

What if I’m using a laptop and the only asterisk is the one above the 8?
