    Hi guys,

We have DVCPRO HD 720p60 green-screen source footage being added to a DVCPRO 50 720×480 sequence. The footage we’re keying over in the sequence is 720×480. When we add the HD footage into the sequence, Final Cut Pro of course scales the HD down to fit into 720×480. The Scale amount shows as being 75%. If we change Scale amount to 100%, the HD shot fits the 720×480 sized screen exactly top to bottom, and since it is a wider aspect, extends off the left and right sides of the screen.

My question is this: If our imported footage is DVCPRO HD at 960×720 shouldn’t we have more room to scale up the HD footage in an SD sequence (i.e., if we want to zoom in tighter on the HD footage)? Why is the HD filling the SD screen top to bottom and reporting back a scale amount of 100%? Shouldn’t it be reporting back a scale amount closer to 66-70 % ?

    Thanks!
