Adding blank spaces between edit segments
Greetings.
Is there a way to add blank space between 2 edits? In Avid there is a pull-down called Filler that you can select, and it behaves like a source. I’ve looked all over the place and can’t see how to do this in Premiere Pro.

I treat the entire sequence as “filler”. For example, if I want to ripple everything downstream two seconds from the blank space I am creating, I lasso all of it, then type “+129” (29.97 timeline) or “+159” (59.94 timeline) on the keypad, and press enter.
This opens a two second gap that plays as black, and ripples everything to the right of it, maintaining the clips relationships relative to each other.

Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF. -
Hey Eric….
if you need a filler object….as sometimes this is easier to reuse as an insert edit object…
create a transparent video clip or black color matte…
those should do the trick….

thank you for getting back to me Alex. I did create a clear title and that did the trick, but was hoping to have a way to push my timeline down without adding a real edit.
Hopefully an update will let us add space just by marking in /out then insert empty space.
