Can i add a border to my video when before it gets rendered? Or do i have to crop the video files to get a border?

Use the Border FX. Ask if you need more details on how to apply FX.

Sorry i didn’t specify my question.. I meant borders for only the top and bottom so the video has that widescreen look

You could create it as color gradient:
    black-transparent-transparent-black
and place it into the topmost track.
Or better create your “border” in photoshop.
    You can also use masking.

There are number of ways to achieve this 😉
