Add Video Transition Grayed out & View in Cinema tools
Hi, I did search before asking but no one seems to have really answered what my issue is. I have been using my FCP fine for almost a year. For some reason now the Add Video Transition link/button under sequence will not work. It stays grayed out even when I know it should turn to black for me to select. Also I am aware you cannot use transition on clips without trimming it a bit so that is not the issue, it just wont turn black for me to select at all, indefinitely. I am also getting the same issue with the View-Open in Cinema tools. It stays grayed out and I can’t select it either. Any thoughts?? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Is an edit point selected in your sequence when you attempt to add a transition?

Yes, edit points selected but no avail. It’s just totally grayed out no matter what I do, trim, blade, put the selection tool between edits, even selecting the whole clip. Still grayed out no matter what. Very strange.
