Add text to avid locators on the fly?
Hi,
I’ve recently switch to avid from years of FCP use and I have what is probably a very silly question.
In FCP while I’m watching footage down, I can easily add markers and marker notes while playing through footage, without having to stop, enter the marker, the marker note and then play. It’s able to be done on the fly.
I know in avid that locators are basically the same as markers. I can add locators on the fly (at least the actual color dots) but I cannot add notes on the fly (the window won’t pop up until I stop playback). Is there a menu or button I can reassign to be able to do all this on the fly?

There is no ability to add text to a locator/marker while the video still plays. Only the ability to add a locator/marker and return to it later.

You used t be able to log and subclip live during capture with the F. Keys… But not after the fact
