  • add logo to letterbox area in video

I am using Sony Vegas and am rendering to NTSC DV Widescreen Format (720×480), which results in black bars above and below. I then take my mpeg2 and encode to .flv using Flash CS3 Professional. I would like to have my logo be static through the whole video on the bottom right portion in the letterbox area. What is the best way to add a watermark or logo in this area of the video. Do I need to do it in Sony Vegas or would I do it in Flash or Dreamweaver?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you have black bars at the top and bottom it sounds like you are rendering 16:9 widescreen media to a 4:3 format since widescreen rendered properly doesn’t have black bars. You can just drop the widescreen project into a 4:3 project and add the logo as an overlay on a track above for the duration of the video.

You may be able to do this in Flash or Dreamweaver but I have never used those applications so I can’t say.
