is there a command so that when I add an edit on the end of a timeline, the visible timeline will adjust so the entire timeline is seen? I am sure there must be a setting somewhere. Thanks in advance…no manual in sight…

No, but just click on the timeline and hit “Shift-Z” and all will be revealed.

This works with all the windows and “timelines” (like in the Motion Tab) in FCP.
