Add audio transitions to all the cuts at the same time?
Hi there im working in a project that has a lot of domestic quality video, the problem is when there is a cut the sound is anoying cos sometimes it goes from silence to a loud croud of people,so what im doing is adding an audio transition to ease the transition, fine, the question is: is there a way to add a cross disolve audio transition to every cut on the sequence at the same time? or at least not doing it one by one(i have hours of video in sequences that need this done….)

I don’t think you can do this without also adding a video transition en masse, so if that’s a problem, just set your default vid transition to 1 frame. Here’s what you do:
1. Select everything in the timeline
2. Drag up to the canvas and hold until Insert/Overwrite/Replace Etc. overlay menu pops up
3. Drop it on Overwrite -> with Transition.
This should replace everything in your sequence with what you have set as the default transitions.
I don’t know if I explained that well but it’s a good technique to be aware of. Let us know how it works for you.

Hey thanks for answering this sounds good!ive just tried it but it only seemes to be adding a video transition anyways right now im finishing work so ill try tomorrow and let u know!

Cool – I had actually only used this a few times in the past to add a bunch of white flashes, when I did a quick test before posting it added audio dissolves as well. You may need to be sure the audio is linked in each clip, in which case it might end up being easier to do it manually 😉
Worst case= Apple+T.

Hello ive been trying this tecnique and it works!the only thing is you have to select only the audio tracks and have the timeline marker at the begining of the edit then drag it to overwrite with transition and voila!
