    Hi Guys!

So, I’m working on a scifi short where I have a lot of effects but this one is pretty difficult. I need to replace the color of the visor on a man’s helmet from clear/see-through to a red glow. I’ve got some ideas but nothing is shining through as it were. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. “

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt

Depending on how much the head moves ( I have the feeling it may move a lot) you may be able to use Mocha and track a mask on the Visor, but you will probably have to adjust the mask by hand also to fit the perspective. There’s always straight roto though…

You can also try SynthEyes for a 3d track, bring in a 3d model of the Visor using Zaxwerks Invigorator Pro, link it to a AE 3d layer and apply the track to it…
