Not sure what the heck happened, but all of the sudden I no longer get an adaptive preview while scrubbing or moving objects in After Effects 7. I checked my preferences and such, and nothing has changed. I remember this happened to me a while ago with AE 6.5, and I ended up re-installing AE because I couldn’t figure out what happened.

    Any thoughts?

Yeah I checked that one…it is on. Not too sure what else it could possibly be.

OpenGL settings in prefs? OpenGL settings at bottom of comp window?

Anyway, I think Dave meant the switch at the top of the timeline, not the comp window …

I checked and double checked both switches. They are both activated. Before this happened, if I clicked and dragged a layer or held my mouse button down to scrub the timeline for more than 4 seconds, my whole screen would turn white.

I also checked my Open GL and it was off.

My project consists of mostly stills, one quicktime compressed with mjpeg a, and a bunch of wav files. I think I am going to try a re-install.

    Thanks for your quick responses!

I just ran into this issue. After searching for awhile I came to this answer
“activate the continuously update preview button on the timeline”
    It worked for me!
