So I’m trying to remove a noise that I found in a video I’m working on that I couldn’t find a similar noise to. I figured the adaptive noise reduction tool would do the trick. And after adjusting the settings, the preview sounds perfect with the noise removed. But when I apply the effect, the whole thing just sounds muted, and not at all like the preview.

Is there something I need to do different? I’m half considering just recording the sound and pasting it back into the file.

    I’m using Adobe Audition CS6.

    UPDATE:

I Managed to find something similar enough to get the regular noise reduction to work, but I’m still curious as to why this happens.
