    Hi Richard,

Edit in HD, AVCHD Preset. Export HD.

When it comes time for the SD version, create a new SD sequence, drop the HD sequence into it. Pan left and right if needed.

Would you think it would be better to transcode? What codec do you recomend? Does prelude transcode?

    Thanks Vince

I would give it a shot without transcoding. You can always look into it and replace footage if you see the system is slowing down too much.

I have not transcoded anything on Premiere for the last few years.
