Acne Removal with QT – After Effects
Posted by Seth Wulf on July 19, 2010 at 6:16 pmI’m trying to remove acne from a guys face in a QT file (I am working in AE 9). Other than painting out his face in each frame is there a more efficient way to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

July 19, 2010 at 6:30 pmThere’s a load of automatic skin software out there, just google for it, mine’s free so, it’s up to you.

July 19, 2010 at 10:03 pmThanks guys I appreciate the info!
Chris, I downloaded both files from the link but they’re missing a file (IMG_0181.jpg). How does this apply to the video? Is it just a mask layer that sits above a and allows for the colors to be manipulated?

July 19, 2010 at 10:23 pmjust right click replace the image with your video, the skin smoother output comp has a smart blur on top that is defined by an alpha matte(the matte adj comp) which has controls in adjustment layer for inner and outer mattes.

July 22, 2010 at 3:38 pmThanks guys, I really appreciate all your suggestions but unfortunately none of the recommendations worked for my footage. I got it to work using rotoscoping and motion tracking with translucent and feathered solids similar to the skin tones in the area. Seems to be more work but it is the only way I have tried that looks good. Thanks again.
