Hi Bob, The reason why i asked if you have more than one profile is because i installed Vegas 8.1 64bit edition on the administrator profile of the my Windows XP 64bit version. I then started using Vegas without any trouble but i had other users who needed to use my computer and therefore i felt that i needed to protect the Administrator profile where i installed vegas. Under control panel, user accounts i changed my files and folders to be private. And when i needed to use Vegas again i also got the access violation error when i open Vegas. At first i did not know what could have cause this as is was a fresh installation and i did not install any other programs except for Vegas. I Then realized that it could only have been when i made the files and folders private under user accounts. I changed it back to what it was and vegas opened fine with no access violation problem.
The point I’m making is that somehow vegas is trying to access files it needs to work with in your timeline somehow vegas cant seem to access these files. Have you maybe moved any of your project files around on your computer? or have you make any recent change on another program that could of modified system files and folders before you started getting access violation errors?
Hope this helps for you, good luck!
