why do i get this message when i click on a clip in a bin: “Could not complete your request because you do not have the necessary access
privileges.” The clip is standard digitized media just like everything else in the bin.
    I’m using M100 8.2.2 on a G4 system.

Sounds like it may be time to repair disk permissions.
If you haven’t done this before, here’s how:
Quit any running applications and run Apple’s Disk Utility, which you will find in /Applications/Utilities.
Select your hard drive in the left pane and if it’s not already selected, click First Aid at the top of the right pane.
Now click the Repair Disk Permissions button and let it run. Messages will scroll by in the window that let you know what it is repairing. When it’s done, you can quit Disk Utility and try using your clip again.
