About to give my computer a dressing down.
Im about to get a new bigger c drive and re format and re install everything from the ground up.
Currently Im on XPpro sp2 and my avid mc 5.0.3 is very happy. But Im wondering if Ill get any real advantage from changing at this point to Win 7pro 64bit OS. I know the 64 bit version of AVID is coming soon, but what are the reall advantages ill get from 64 working . The new avid will still work on xp 32bit.Cheers

At the moment, since Avid is not 64 bit, you probably won’t see any difference. In fact, on newer Macs that would boot natively into 64 bit mode, users had to use a patch to force their macs to boot into 32 bit mode since Avid wouldn’t run in 64 bit mode.
Regarding the new version, I would hold off and wait until it’s released and likewise, the system requirements are released.
